GEORGE AVERITT
George Averitt is a household name to people in his community. He spent years in the newspaper business, ultimately leading him to serve as the publisher of a local newspaper. For nearly 50 years, George has held a college faculty position. Most of that time, he has taught economics at Purdue North Central.
George received his college education at
George’s entire life has been devoted to his community. He has served on countless charitable and for-profit organization boards.

MIKE BRENNAN
Mike Brennan brings years of business experiences to the Center for Creative Solutions. After service in the United States Navy, he held accounting, human resources and training positions with Bethlehem Steel Company. Even though retired, he currently works part-time at a bicycle shop and enjoys facilitating retreats and meetings.
Mike is active also in our community. He has served on the United Way Board and many church committees. He teaches a Bible Study class. Hobbies include woodworking, bicycling, hiking, yard work, visiting the elderly and helping others whenever possible. He and his wife, Fran, are avid campers.
TARI BRITTON
Tari Britton knows social service organizations backwards and forwards. She enjoys a rich, professional background working with all kinds of people, from newborns to adults over 100 years of age. In her community, Tari is known for her strong advocacy on behalf of clients.
Tari is a trainer in business etiquette. She works with employees of businesses and non-profit organizations, teaching office protocol, professional conduct, dealing with ethical dilemmas, making introductions, carrying on conversations, and telephone courtesy, to name just a few.
"Giving back" is what Gerrie is all about. Now retired as a librarian, she describes herself this way: "I think a very significant factor, in which I am, is the fact that I was forn with cerebal palsy. The initial prognoses was bleak. However, my parents did not listen to the 'experts.' Because of their tenacity and many volunteers, I have led a very rewarding normal life. Feeling the need to give back, I find ppublic service very fulfulling.
Gerrie's public service has included 20 years on her local, public school board, 15 years as a Union Mills, Indiana, Lions Club member and 20-plus years as a 4H Leader. For years, she has been a motivational speaker for local organizations like Leadership La Porte County.
Gerrie and her husband are farmers. Her interests include environmental issues, politics; she is most passionate about the well-being of children.
Elsa Littman brings years of wisdom and experience to everyone around her. Her main interests include social work, the arts, spiritual growth, environmental education and holistic health.
Having a master's degree in social work from the University of Chicago, Elsa has worked many years with a wide variety of clients in Chicago and in much smaller communities. She is an ordained Mennonite minister, serving as a hospital and nursing home chaplain. A certifed music practioner, Elsa loves to sing, whistle and play several folk instruments.
